London based, but quickly becoming a globetrotting DJ, Joshwa has been breaking boundaries and establishing his name with his slick house music productions. From releases on Lee Foss’s Repopulate Mars, Sonny Fodera’s Solotoko as well as Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations to name a few, it’s clear to see that his peers and established comrades spotted his talent from a mile away and are all wanting a slice!
With a sound that takes inspiration from his love for grime and garage, Joshwa now boasts an impressive catalog of pioneering tech house singles and EPs, most notably “Magalenha” on Spinnin’ Deep and his single “Miracles” on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records.
One of his latest and most profound projects, “Bass Go Boom”, which debuted on Hot Creations, did the rounds this summer across the global club scene, and has added infinite credibility to his name as a producer. With its banging bassline and sweltering vocal hits, the track garnered widespread support from high-caliber acts such as John Summit, MK, Solardo, Radio 1’s Danny Howard, and more.
When you listen to his tracks, you’d think that he’d been a DJ his whole life, yet he’s had quite the array of careers over the years. While music has always been Joshwa’s passion since a young age, his previous ambitions to pursue a career in becoming a soccer player and a bold move overseas to Chile made him quickly realize that music was his true calling.
This summer, he spent a lot of his time in the clubbing capital of the world Ibiza, whether it be supporting Jamie Jones for his Paradise imprint at Amnesia, Fisher at his Hï Ibiza residency, as well as Defected’s D4 Dance at O Beach. Joshwa’s also broken into American territory in recent years and has played at coveted festivals and events throughout 2023 in various states.
His Open-Air back in September was so good, we’ve had to bring him back for those of you that missed out. This time, he’ll be taking over one of New Yorks’ most beloved venues, Musica, where you can delve deep into his boundless sounds, in an unrivaled setting in the heart of the city.
